Regulatory compliances are pressing organizations to take a legal responsibility for managing data security. Confidential information such as sales, operation, and technical data can easily leak through unauthorized use of devices such as removable media and printers. Uncontrolled devices leave security holes and provide a challenge to organizations.
Solution
The Device Control (DC) solution by HitachiSoft’s HIBUN endpoint data leak prevention software controls unwanted use of devices including removable media, external HDDs, network drives, shared folders, and printers. The DC solution collects comprehensive users’ operation logs from endpoints and stores them centrally.
Prohibit Unwanted Device Usage
HIBUN Information Fortress prohibits users from copying data onto unwanted devices. Users are allowed to copy data onto approved devices only if the information security policy admits them for access to such devices.
Flexible Policy Settings
HIBUN Information Fortress along with Server grants access to devices while endpoints are connected to a network. Once users leave the network, HIBUN Information Fortress prohibits access to removable devices based on the information security policy of the organization. With a third party USB token, users can maintain access to devices even while they are outside the network.
Centralized Logs
HIBUN Information Fortress together with Server collects users’ operation logs from endpoints and stores them centrally. Logs on the endpoints are encrypted so that they are protected from user manipulation. This increases a reliability of logs during audit tracing.
